Olga is a renowned wedding planner for the city's elite, and she is paid very well for her work. Her brother represents the Latino community in Brooklyn. What few know is that, despite their successes, the Acevedos were raised by their grandmother when their mother, Blanca, abandoned them to devote herself to political activism with the Young Lords. Now, after surviving Hurricane Maria, she suddenly reappears in their lives. Set against the backdrop of New York City in the months following the devastating hurricane, "Olga dies dreaming" explores political corruption, family conflicts and the true meaning of the American Dream.
