During the summer of '69, I was a young, naive bride who had jettisoned with considerable glee her small town life for the bright lights of Chicago. While the book captured the headlines of the summer, it didn't fully deliver on the lifestyle at exclusive clubs or the vibrant fashion explosion. It was, however, a sobering reminder of how much everyone ~ including pregnant women ~ smoked and drank.
