Like Inarritu’s “Birdman” this melange continues dis-integrating the cinema. Very nice interview w/the couple who wrote/directed this. Very fine sensibility. Soft erotic feel that belies mastery of the gestalt it all can come from. Layered and NOT a movie; not lyrical, except in a brand new way. NOT a FILM. Audio and video, much better label and art form. Bathe in the mix, however planned and controlled. Pretend it’s a spontaneous mix in real time, then you can groove with it like jazz (aint it all Jazz?). Same with “Birdman”—you know, ‘let it swim over you’; fall out of love with the straight line.

The film portrays the mundane life of four women in Tel Aviv, and the daily challenges they face. It also explores the parent-children relationship in modern-day Israel. A slow but decent drama. Subtitles.

a girl meets herself coming out of the sea; a honeymooning couple search, finally finding the peace of the sea; a Filipina caretaker is at sea in the midst of a foreign language and culture - broken family relationships are healed with the help of outsiders. intriguing.

More thematic than plot driven. A young woman in a dead-end job teams up with a fired photographer to find an intriguing little girl who appears out of the sea, and then disappears. The woman explores memories of childhood, both her own and the photographer's. The second story concerns a couple whose honeymoon cruise is derailed when the bride breaks her leg and they are stuck in a 2nd-rate hotel. Characters are intriguing, and their actions are unpredictable.

An interesting film about the lives of various people in Israel. Sometimes it is a bit obvious, such as what the writer is really working on accomplishing and sometimes it is a bit confusing; howver, overall it is certainly better then most films.

A thought-provoking exploration of the relationship between mothers, fathers and daughters. Is the plot like a giant wheel with the ocean-spawned girl coming around to confront her young adult self?

Beautiful, mesmerizing and very touching film. It seamlessly drifts between reality and surrealism. Its aesthetics reminded me that of the "Diving Bell and Butterfly".
