More Than We Deserve, Greater Than We Imagine

We talk as though we understand the term. The bank gives us a grace period. The seedy politician falls from grace. Musicians speak of a grace note. We describe an actress as gracious, a dancer as graceful. We use the word for hospitals, baby girls, kings, and premeal prayers. We talk as though we know what grace means.

But bestselling author Max Lucado says we've settled for a wimpy grace, a goldfish grace that sits in a bowl on the shelf and never causes trouble or demands a response.

Now available as a trade paperback, Lucado's bestselling book reminds readers that there's more to grace than we've ever imagined. In this cornerstone message of Lucado's ministry, he challenges readers to not only receive grace but also to be changed by grace. Shaped by grace. Strengthened by grace. Emboldened by grace. Softened by grace. Snatched by the nape of their neck and shaken to their senses by grace.

This was a phenomenal book. It is about God's grace - the grace He gives us and the grace we should give one another. I have read many of Max's books and this one was right up near the top, for me. It confirmed who I want to be in Jesus - - who I want to honour and glorify by extending grace when it doesn't feel like I should. This book was very special for me. It was an amazing read.

Agree with another comment, good but does not top some other works by Lucado.

This inspirational book by Max Lucado was a welcome read during Easter. He explains how "grace" keeps all of us humans on course loving one another.

I can see why Max Lucado's work receives such high praise.

This is an excellent book that I could not put down very easily.

The "Reader's Guide" at the end of the book is a very helpful and useful resource for both individual review & study, and group study.

Definitely a book worth reading.

Not Lucado's best work, but still good.
