Just recently read this book and I believe it is underrated. I will admit it is a rather difficult or dull read for someone who cannot appreciate the art of romance and portraying it in a time within one has not lived in. Pam does appear, in fact, have a good grasp on the historical aspects of the time (I.e. characters’ diction, common terminology of the time, etc.) and she does share her research on the settings within the novel in the end Author’s Note. Also, she shares on her Twitter that she researches for her books! She is a very sweet person who deserves more credit for her writing. Please check her out!
