Due primarily to the economic recession, a growing number of people are finding themselves in a position they never imagined: homeless. Nashville, Tennessee is home to a fast rising tent city population. With a shelter system that cannot support even 1 out of 5 of the city's homeless population, most people have nowhere to go. Nearly 100 homeless individuals have come together to form Nashville's Tent City, which is located under a bridge close to the city's center.

Inspiring but sad. Inspiring that a sense of community and community responsibility that exceeds many so-called civilized developments. Sad because of the waste. Not waste from the people living in tent city but the wasted MONEY that goes towards 'helping' them (committees, public forums etc...) and wasted energy of NIMBY'ism. Here in Canada it is cheaper to feed/house homeless people than it is to leave them to struggle. We should feed and house them not because its cheaper but simply because its the ethical thing to do. Movies are great because the facts/figures get stripped away in it becomes about the people and their stories........
