On the threshold of adulthood, 17-year-old Pierre becomes obsessed with his aunt Nadia. A flamboyant mathematician whose intellect clashes with her alcoholism and fatalistic view of life, Nadia is on a path to self-destruction. As Pierre discovers his budding sexuality, he attempts to rescue his beloved aunt from herself. Domain is a dark, sexy mediation on the intersection of two lives with very different trajectories.

A French "existential" movie, very French, but like so many such movies it does not know how to end, so it goes out on a note of mystery. If you like French movies like this, this one is quite watchable, and you may even think the somewaht obscure ending is not mysterious enough. All in all I enjoyed it, because I do tend to like this kind of French film.

Don't expect a lot to happen and it's too pretentious for its own good.

Instead of spending time with people his own age, a young man prefers to go on nature walks with his mathematician aunt who drinks too much,. It may be that he is trying to get her to stop drinking, as it seems that the drinking is ruining her health. I found the movie a little too cerebral. One reviewer panned it saying, "I exaggerate slightly when I say nothing ever happens."

Kept my interest but didn't really go anywhere - at least I didn't get it
