This book is about a girl named Shelly who moves away to a small house far from the city. She lives with her mother and her parents have divorced. In this book you follow shelly and her mother as their perfect happy life in their new home turns from great to terrible. It all changes when a burglar breaks into their house on Shelley's birthday and he is drunk. Unfortunately in the events that follow the burglar ends up being killed and shelly and her mother have to do something to cover up the story. That takes them through things they never thought they would encounter because after all, they are mice... . aren't they?
