Bartleby Gaines is a fast-talking slacker who gets rejected by every college he applies to. He decides to invent a phony college to get his parents off his back. Unfortunately (or not), the website his best friend creates is too effective and hundreds of other rejects apply and are accepted. Instead of revealing the hoax, Gaines decides to forge ahead and let the students create their own curriculum, little suspecting that their school is obstructing the expansion plans of the nearby snobbish college.

Average teen comedy with a few laughs. Nothing more than that.

This movie was AWESOME. For a long time, it was my favorite movie of all time. Not so much anymore, but I still remember it all when I hear the word 'accepted'.

This movie is a hilarious comedy about one not wanting to conform to societies idea of an ideal college, and not wanting to tell parents that they have been rejected to the "Ideal" college. Through it all they come out on top.

This movie is by no means perfect. Some of the acting is rather poor and much of it is predictable. That said, I give this movie a full 5 stars because of it's humorous commentary on the public education system. The whole concept for finding one's passions and following them instead of conforming, is something I fully support. Mindless busywork, restrictive classes, and being told what and how to think are problems rampant in our schools.

Too bad the main character didn't read The Teenage Liberation Handbook by Grace Llewellyn--- and ditch school altogether earlier, lol!
