Carol Lombard is reported to be dying of cancer and Frederich March, a journalist, plans to tell her courageous fight for life on a daily basis in his newspaper. This film (1937) differs from the other screwball comedies (1932-1944) in that it is in color, a rarity for films at that time. Hollywood included one of its mortal sins of the time, the inclusion of buffoonish African-American and Native-American characters. All at a time when non-whites were considered by law to be second class citizens of America.

Corny. Not sure what all the accolades for Carol Lombard in screwball comedies are about. Unless this was a bad example of her talent. The movie is just average and not a great screwball comedy.

I can't understand the high ratings for this movie on IMDB. It has a 7.5 rating and "It Happened One Night" has an 8.2 rating. This movie pales in comparison. I thought this movie was pretty bland for a "screwball comedy".

A fantastic film starring the queen of screwball comedy, Carole Lombard.
