I enjoyed the movie, but the acting could have been better.

one word......HORRIBLE

I feel sorry for the actors in this movie as they were part of a very bad movie. Cinematography was decent, but directing was not good, and acting was really bad. It all feels like a bunch of grown ups in a high school play gone bad. The storyline was promising but the delivery miss the mark big time. Sorry, I can't think of anything real positive to say. Hope the actors find a better movie to be in.

As always, the original Victor Mature version is better. These actors had no chemistry together, way too long fight scenes and the inspiration of a bible movie is missing. Even the music didn’t support the movie’s aura.

Utterly sincere and yet (therefore?) utterly artless. As expected, Pureflix's Samson features bad acting, bad dialogue, and bad costuming and set design, although these actually mark an improvement over some of their other movies. Where the movie really fails, however, is in the plot. At some point it seems to have been decided that the moral of their Samson story should lie in his refusal to follow God's plan, and admittedly this leads to the film's only powerful moment, when the hero finally sees how he has squandered his gifts. However, it requires him (and other characters as well) to behave arbitrarily and inconsistently throughout. In one scene Samson watches helplessly as the villain kills the woman he loves, a few scenes later and he's surrendering to that same villain, one moment Samson's piling up Philistine corpses, the next he's complaining that the Philistines are unbeatable. The villain decides to turn Samson into an ally, then picks a fight with him at the very wedding banquet that was supposed to inaugurate their alliance, in one scene he complains about being tasked with the suppression of Hebrew revolts instead of getting to fight the Egyptians, in another his being sent to fight the Egyptians is treated as a punishment. The filmmakers apparently didn't want to portray Delilah as a two-dimensional evil seductress, but the resulting character arc is especially forced and unconvincing, ending in a resounding thud.

I enjoyed this movie. While you won't be likely to consider this your favorite movie, it does provide an entertaining dramatization of a biblical story. I found it to be reasonably faithful to the biblical story upon which it is based. I would definitely recommend it to any Christian seeking to find a worthwhile dvd. It may not be the best for children due to the violence portrayed.

Ignore the previous comment , she/he saw a different movie. Its not the best movie ever but not the worst. Its an Old Testament bible movie, what do you expect.

Decided to speed watch this dog of a film (apology to all our four legged animals) though tempted several times to hit the eject button. An example of how to make a boring movie out of a biblical legendary tale ... poor acting, cheap sets/props/CGI and bad script. You know a stinker even much of the paid audience gave it lousy ratings:

Rotten Tomatoes 25%
Metacritic 17% 1.5/4
