Cilla is eight and half years old, biracial, a budding author, and an only child. That’s all set to change as her mother is pregnant with what Cilla refers to as, “The Blob.” She has penned a fantastic memoir that is filled with stories from her life thus far. While Cilla may have an imagination that runs a bit wild at times, she is also a completely relatable character. Her honest stories about being bald for many years, struggles learning how to read, the challenges of being a biracial child, and her fears of a new sibling will resonate with many readers. Cilla truly is an author extraordinaire!

Cilla is not a future but current author extraordinaire, as she has penned this most marvelous memoir. True, she's a fictional character, but her imagination is one of her charms so I'm not going to let that fact stand in the way of my believing in her story. She's both a wonderful character and storyteller. Highly recommended.
