Librarian Reads Challenge 2019

Dec 25, 2017

It starts off already full of suspense. The whole time, you never really feel at peace with anything, and are always on edge. Lunetta did a good job with the characters, giving them their own lives unique to the story, and the entire plot is saturated with the feeling of simply surviving, through every twist and turn. My one complaint is that the book ended far too quickly, and completely too sudden. You get to a point where you are really into the story, and then it just suddenly ends like them old cartoons from the 90s that gave no real conclusion, so I was left feeling that familiar hollow emptiness us readers get when we finish a book that we really enjoyed and want more of. All in all, I love the ideas that Demitria Lunetta has, but I really wish she would write more into her books.

I enjoyed this book. It was a fun read with a lot of adventure. I was a little sad at the ending. I wanted a little more description of what happened.

Awesome book. So awesome!! Except for the ending. Crushing. It. Just. Ended. Period. HORRIBLE!! Not to be a Debbie downer but this book officially made Top Infuriating Endings Ever. Oh and BTW Jacks is so my fav. See ya Rice.

The second to In the After takes Amy away from baby to a dangerous place where the monsters are not the only ones to fear...

I enjoyed this series, though I agree with several people on the need for one more. Returning characters mixed with new ones added to several more unexpected twists. There is some gore and a few themes that can be sensitive to readers, but overall, a good Sci Fi duology well worth a read.

Really good book but I did like the first one better. It had a little bit more oomph. I will be reading the next book if there is one!

Since it took me less than 24 hours to read it I have to say that it SHOULD have been a 5 star read. I couldn't put it down! It was an action packed, horrifying thriller that was such a good read. The reason I docked it a star was for the ending. I won't give it away- it was good, but I know the author could have made it better!
