I enjoyed this book well enough, though I don't think I'm sold on Coelho's books. It's about Veronika, a young girl who tries to kill herself because she's bored, and wakes up in a psychiatric hospital. She is told she will die in the…

I could not put this book down. It was a quick read, yet it made me re-evaluate how I feel about emotions and life's purpose. The young girl botched her suicide and woke up with a heart condition due to the overdose with only a few days…

I loved this book. What makes a person happiest -following a prescribed path or following their own dreams?

A wonderful book. It will definitely give one with an open mind and heart an interesting perspective on what we consider "crazy" in today's society. It's also quite a statement on how we view death, the fear of it, and one's will to live.

I loved The Alchemist so much that when I read some of the author's other books, I found it difficult to enjoy them as much as I did The Alchemist. Veronika Decides to Die was fairly good but sometimes it felt a bit strange and incomplete.

I used to like his books. But now - there is no initial admiration. He repeats himself in many ways, changing only names and places. And his obsession with orgasms! The impression is that without them one cannot exist and feel satisfied.

My favorite of Coelho's books, by far. While the title would make you think otherwise, this is actually a very uplifting, inspiring story. From the book cover: "Inspired by events in Coelho's own life, Veronika Decides to Die questions…

This book really makes you think, but in a good way. It's about life's decisions and why we make the choices we do. and why we tend to always take an easier route than the truly grand schemes we all could live. Life takes courage, and…

Veronika is like mainy others who think about sucide attempts. Veronika questions her own life on where it leads now that she has only days to live.
